Thumbs down How much

After breaking my rod tip whilst fishing at clevedon i have now recieved a reply from shakes spear.

They have quoted me £84.60 for the new tip section As you can imagine im more tempted to go out a get a new rod as im not filled with cinfidence after the tip has broken with less then the recomedned casting weight.

I think a nice greys rod is in order. A bit disapointed with shakespear as its a nice rod but im not prepaired to pay that!!

Re: How much

Gutted for you TJ. That's appalling customer service, less than a year old and under the recommended casting weight. I'll certainly not be considering Shakespeare when it comes to my new rod.

Grey’s lifetime guarantee does seem good, but I remember reading somewhere that it's changing soon. Not sure how, I'll try and find the page I was reading.

Re: How much

Greys have obviously never heard of a life time guarantee 2 years ago when I broke my 2 month old rod tip. That cost me £110. I think the rods are great but I was not happy with their customer service so I moved to an AnyRod.

hm that does seem a bit pricey mate! i went off shakespear a while ago for my own personal reasons (pm me if you want to know!) i have a greys as you know albeit an old one but its never let me down.. and if it can survive the beatings i give tackle it must be pretty good!

Re: How much

Sorry to hear that TJ. I always thought Shakespeare were a reputable company. Think i'll shop elsewhere from now on too.

Re: How much

I broke a prized Shakespeare rod which I considered irreplaceable!

It was ....

Shakespeare told me they couldn't do anything to help; not even supply a suitable new purchase.

They're the worst manufacturer/supplier I've come across and I can only name you one good product .. 'Ugly Sticks' ... and even those I've re-rung as soon as I've bought one because of the krap fittings!!!

Taa and goodbye!!!!

Re: How much

Greys are pretty awesome mate, so are most of the top end rods, i can only recommend century c-curves, they are the dogs, i got 2 and would'nt change.
