Codling/Cod

Info please,
at what weight does a codling become a cod?

I've always regarded a double figure fish as a cod, anything under is a codling.

Vagabond your expertize is need.

John

Re: Codling/Cod

Does it matter?

We don't have breamlets or basslings, eh????!!!!

To be serious, it seems to depend what area you come from and what the quality of fishing is like for that year. This years codling are next years cod on the S Coast as we generally think of codling as under 6 lbs and cod bigger than that.

I dread to think what a Norwegian codling weighs!!!!!
