Fishing The Witterings

HI LADS, SOMETIME SINCE MY LAST POST BUT DON'T SEEM TO KNOW WHERE THE TIME GOES!
FOR ALL MY LIFE I HAVE EITHER HAD A CARAVAN OR MORE LATELY A BUNGALOW AT PAGHAM AND KNOW THE FISHING INSIDE OUT SO HAVE NEVER HAD A CRAVING TO SEEK IT ELSE WHERE. HOWEVER, DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL WE ARE MOVING THE VAN TO WEST WITTERING JUST OUTSIDE BRACKLESHAM BAY. AS SUCH I KNOW BUGGER ALL ABOUT THE FISHING THERE, IF THAT MUCH!
I WOULD APRECIATE ANY INFO ON GOOD MARKS, SPECIES, SEASONAL BAITS. IN SHORT ANYTHING TO GET A BIT OF CONFIDENCE TO GET THE RODS WET SOON!
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GIVE UP TOO MUCH IN THE FORUM I AM HAPPY TO BE MAILED ON davidmoore2206@hotmail.com AS A PM
CAN OFFER SOME REASONABLE ADVICE/EXPERIENCE ON THE MULLET IF THAT FLOATS YOUR BOAT BY WAY OF PAY BACK!!!!
BEST REGARDS
BIG D
(THEMULLETMAN)

Re: Fishing The Witterings

Bracklesham is good in Mid Summer with a chance of a tope from the beach. Mate of mine lives in West Witterings and reckons he catches pout, eels, scad, mack, hounds in summer and mainly pouts, whiting, rockling, few flats in winter. Maybe a few codling down there this autumn and they seem to everywhere else.

Re: Fishing The Witterings

thanks for all the kind thoughts especially the west country lads!!
I am never to cocky to knock back advice from any quarter so could well take you up on the offer if i am ever 'down your way', would be interesting to see a different view.
However, we do not tend to do to badly down here, and since specialising on them several years ago we have never taken fewer than 20 fish per season for the table between 4 and 6.5lb all methods, including fish to 6lb in the surf on the fly rod.
best regards
Big D
