advice needed on a reel

hi guys

me again asking silly questions..

i have a penn 525 mag and 2 525 gs reels

the mag is looking a bit worse for ware (it still works fine) but is a bit battered on the casing

my questions are

is there anyway of buying a new shell for it?

or!

i have a old and knackered gs here somewhere that was kept for spares..

would it be possible to put all of the stuff from the mag into the gs and just keep the mag side plate (for the mag adjuster) ?

from the outside they look the same reels they just have slightly different within the shell.. and im wondering if this could be a way of giving my mag a better look for another couple of years!

Re: advice needed on a reel

yea your probably right dave... but i was sat here with no bait.. nobody to take me fishing... so ihad to think of something to do!!

but i now believe you can send the reel off to penn and they will recondition it.. (might be cheaper to buy a new one though)
