| Re: take a look, and don't be quick to judge... I once saw I guy taking NINETY mackerel from a local venue near me - I asked him what it was for - he replied by telling me that half were for freezing for bait, and the rest were for his cat! I informed him that he could get a tin of cat food for around 50p - he told me to F***k off and mind my own business....ya can't win against these people... ![]() |

| Re: take a look, and don't be quick to judge... Fair play to the guy he did admit that he was not aware of the size limits & made an on-line apology. Forums should teach, not criticise... I think it would make a good sticky post for this forum if someone could post an authoritive list of UK legal size limits. Norfolkboy produced some cracking Forum tacklebox stickers. How about a long thin MK 11 version with inches & centremetres on it as well as the forum name? (Just an idea!!!) |

| Re: take a look, and don't be quick to judge... i think you have the right idea paul, EDUCATION ,unfortunately not all anglers visit forums or read magazines ,perhaps tackle dealers could do more by having prominent posters up in their shops , or maybe DEFRA issuing a free size limit information sheet that tackle dealers hand to every customer who buy sea fishing gear |

| Re: take a look, and don't be quick to judge... Forums should teach, not criticise... And thats what we do. Its the trawler boats that do it and its simple as that. Ever seen how much gets flung over the sided on a trawler as I have and its scary. Size limits do not work or quoters as it all ends up in the net ( nets cannot tell the difference ) and then get flung or sold on the black market. Just need to close whole areas off then there is no ifs or buts and let them recover and its that simple and yes to charter boats too. Its a hornets nets of a subject but give me the keys to the car and thats what a passionate angler would do as I know it would work as for gods sake farmers set fields as side to recover and have done for 100s of years ( called crop rotation !! ) so whats the difference ? We will litteraly empty the sea espcially as sandeel are now good money and if they go everything goes Oh morning __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |
