Blueys

Hi all, just wanted to know if anyone's tried Blueys? The new(ish) wonder-bait, from what i hear, they're not the magical panacea we've all been waiting for, but i still have hopes that they'll do the business for rays on the north coast. I have a few packets, so time will tell!!

Re: Blueys

The only thing we have caught with them is mackies on float, but the take is viscious. More tests to be done before deciding as nothing on the bottom yet.

Question Re: Blueys

Anyone know what species of fish they are & where they come from? I'm wondering if they would work for Zander. I know Zeds generally prefer freshwater baits. Not seen them in the shops yet though.

Re: Blueys

Pretty sure they're from the pacific area mate, i've been looking around, and they resemble saury, or ballyhoo without the long bottom jaw

Re: Blueys

imported from the pacific guys....type of sauri...and more importantly - they work! Fantastic blood and oil content.
Obviously not a magic bait - if the fish aren't there you wont catch - but they are great when fish are scarce...
