Daiwa AWB 129

just got my hands on one in mint condtions just wondering if any one had any thoughts and views on the rod as they as supposed to be one of the best ever made

hi creedy,
yep, imho awb series is the dogs danglies, i've a 129pm and a 122
and i wouldn't swop them for anything .
mind you i ain't much of a tackle tart so most of my kit gets used to the point of destruction till i replace them.
i've always trusted diawa rods as i've found their top of the range stuff always faultless.

129 -lots of power for distance plus a usable fishing tip for bite detection.
for me-good for otg or pendulum casts and happiest with 5-6oz
where as the 122 seems to prefer 4-5oz and pendulums but thats prob just my casting style.

they've been around a while now though don't know if the newer models by penn ,zziplex , etc are any better , though they may be lighter with newwer materials/construction.
