Go Fishing Show NEC

Went to the show yesterday to get some secret gear & tactics for the match tonight

To be honest, really dissapointed with the content - should have been called the 'Go Carp Fishing show - very little sea fishing content ... 2 or 3 stands & a few boats on show.

Mustad & Breakaway were the only 'known names there, the mustad stand was a few rucsacs & rig wallets ... the Breakaway stand was cramed with all thier products including one they wont sell to the shops - only available from themselves

Chris Clark & Alan Yates were there with thier usual tips & tactics forum, learned a few things from them ...

Apart from a few freebies, stickers & the like (my Tackle box will be the tartiest tackle box around now !) that was it for the inside ...

On the way out - walked past the big lake in the middle and literally bumped into Phil Hyde - for those who dont know, Phil is one of the UK's top casters and watched him demonstrate his method of casting, effortless casting - well over 200yds ! Then asked me and my mate to have a go - so ended up having some casting instruction including the pendulum - chuffed little bunny I was

So if you are contemplating going and Sea Angling is your only interest - sorry to say you will be dissapointed AND £7-00 for the car park - bloody rip off IMHO ...

shame there wasnt more sea fishing stuff, but look at the positives, a bit of know-how on the pendulum and some nice stickers to go on your box lmao could have been useful if you wer going to france carping lol

Re: Go Fishing Show NEC

Think freshwater fishing is now taking over our sport, nothing against the dark side, just I prefer to be at sea, trying for a truly wild fish.

The thing they have got right is re-stocking and taking care of the lakes and rivers. GOOD LUCK to them.

Rape of the sea stocks will continue until there's no demand for it as it's too expensive to buy.

Re: Go Fishing Show NEC

Iwas at the show to,i agree it should have been just for carp anglers.
The one fly tying stand for material were from my area in wales afew more would have been better.

Eight of us went up from our local flytying class very disapointed.
On the good side we stopped of on the way home to watch the rugby
HOOK is the man.
