Ammo Frozen Baits... It was mentioned in an earlier post, that they found ammo frozen baits to be not very good....As I've always found Ammo frozen baits to be first class, I'm gonna run a short poll, to see what other anglers think...I'm just interested thats all.... The poll will run for three days....cheers all Paul

I've allways found Ammo frozen baits to be the best you can buy especially their sand eels. They are blast frozen & generally are not as soft as a lot of baits. I have ocasionally had bad / soft Ammo bait, but only from less reputable tackle shops that I suspect have allowed them to defrost & then refrozen them. I think the secret is to keep any frozen bait, frozen until you use it. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: Ammo Frozen Baits... I have a freezer full of ammo bait , sandeel , baby squid , cuttle fish , mackeral , limpets , peelers ,thats the only problem ive had with ammo baits , out of 4 in a pack 3 were hardbacks !!!!!!, and a few other packs where the odd peeler has been a hard back , also fished with flatfish and he had the same problem !!!! my only complaint as i think the rest of the bait is first class !!!!! lee. __________________ If Everyday things are getting you down & stressing you out, Think like a Dog, If it cant be Eaten or Humped, Piss on it and walk away..

Re: Ammo Frozen Baits... Always use ammo and find them excellent. Particularly like their sand eels as they have the 3 different sizes, the extra large being massive! Wasn't too sure about their peeler crab but as frozen goes I suppose it is as good as any but can't compete with fresh.

Re: Ammo Frozen Baits... i've always found ammo baits to be spot on, especially the sand eel , whereas the mackerel seems no better than other brands, i've not tried the cuttle or hermies, irrespective of the brand its only as good as the way it has been kept. though i've found that the sandeel, which is what i use mostly from this firm, works better if it has been thawed and refrozen Once. when buying i look hard at the packets to check if they have been frozen/thawed and refrozen i,e- no blood n ice around the fish in the packs and the fish and packs still flat. but i don't worry to much if i can only find a pack that may have been refroze because with the s/eel will still catch but its nice to start with it as fresh as poss. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.

Re: Ammo Frozen Baits... I've never used any ammo baits... The local sandeel are superb and much cheaper... As is the squid. Might be tempted to use the cuttle/peeler at some stage though.... __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. Bait…… BAIT! Sh*t, where’s the bait?
