delivering a live prawn? its a little early in the year for this but somthing thats been bugging me! had great succes fishing live prawn off the peir/ marina/ harbour either under a float for bass pollack etc or lowered gently down on a running ledger and flowing trace! ive also seen the zip wire method put to good affect off the walls tho am yet to try it! my question is! is ther a way to deliver a live prawn at a good distance off the beach and be confident it will be alive and kicking when it hits the bottom? my local beach is basicly sand flats going out to say 100yards before it gets bricky! i think if i could deliver a live prawn or bunch of them to the transitional patchy zone between rock and sand it could be killer! __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY!

Re: delivering a live prawn? Suppose you try a PVA bag like the carp men use, should work in salt water aswell. Never tried it but could be worth a shot, you could pack some bread crumb in to cushion the prawns in flight aswell.

Re: delivering a live prawn? The best way i have foud is the zip. It might be the same as the zip wire tho. all you do is cast a rolloing lead out as far as you can go. It can be a grip lead. You the make a 3-5 trace with a link swivel and let this slide down your main line. this willl the let the prawn find its own way thus being more nayural. This also works with sand eel. tj

Re: delivering a live prawn? will that work off the beach when you ar at alot lower elevation to the weight bearing in mind tide pull and the natural bow of the wind! as apose to a very high elavation off a wall and the baited snood weighing just a couple of grams? __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY!

Re: delivering a live prawn? yup i can see that! im just concerned about how much weight will be needed to zip it out 100 yards, if its very light i can see it just wafting about at half the distance as soon as the tide gets hold of it, or if its heavy just sitting in the bow of the line 20 yards out! you get were im coming from? i wont the bait bang on next to my lead in the exact chosen area and depth! __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY!
