| WANTED: 2 cheap Carp rods - circa £30-40 each Hi, Just got back into fishing after 20 years away and loving it even more now. I have found that I "quite" enjoy Carp fishing and that I should really upgrade my rods. I am currently using a 25 year old Shimano 11ft Match rod/reel and a £15 telescopic holiday rod/reel package that I bought for the boys to try out fishing this year. Both of these have caught fish up to 9lb with no trouble at all but I can see their limitations in terms of casting and playing larger fish if I ever manage to catch one. I don't want to spend much and have narrowed my choice down to 2.75lb tc Cub Outkasts (bit pricey) Wychwood Rapier?Reaction/Rogue Rogue X (although I have no idea what all the different models mean.) Fox Warrior /XT/ES (although I have no idea what all the different models mean.) Can anyone please advise and/or have 2 of these for sale? thanks __________________ New Personal best this w/end: 9lb Carp. |

| Re: WANTED: 2 cheap Carp rods - circa £30-40 each Thanks for your feedback. I will take a look at all of those links. As I say, I already have a Shimano match rod and reel which is perfect for river fishing and has also landed Carp up to 9lb but it is a bit floppy and bends so much its look like I have landed a monster (great for showing off to those on the opposite side of the lake as long as I keep the fish in the water ;-) Maybe a good all round rod/reel set up might be better as I won't always be going after 40lb monsters in lakes but also enjoy Chubb/Barbel/Perch on rivers. __________________ New Personal best this w/end: 9lb Carp. |
