Re: Feeder rods

There's ones on ebay for about 10/15 quid, but they are pretty crap tbh.

I would go for the Shakespeare Onmi X Feeder Rod. They are cheap and they are a cracking rod. It's what I use and I've never had a problem with it.

Another vote for the Shakey Omni rod. I bought one for £20 and it does the job very well.

Re: Feeder rods

I have the 11ft version and I really do love it. Biggest fish I've hooked with it is my personal best Bream of 7lb 13oz and there was no issue pulling it in.

Here's the 10ft version of the Omni X with 3 tips - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shakespear...ht_2770wt_1069

Or here is the 11ft version (that I have) with 2 tips - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shakespear...5#ht_500wt_969

You won't find them cheaper than that!

Re: Feeder rods

Dragon do some cheap rods. I bought one for less than 20 quid and have used it on a commercial water where I landed 6 tench to 4lbs on it and for the money it was fine with a great through playing action.
For twice the money you want to spend I also bought a Shimano Hyperloop medium feeder 12ft (BX model). Comes with 2 tips and really is a fantastic rod. I've used it on commercials and rivers and cant recommend it enough.

The guys on here are singing the praises of the Shakespeare model which is within your budget so take a look at that as it'll probably be a better rod than the ones from Dragon.

Re: Feeder rods

Shakespeare have always made decent rods; at one time the English squad even used shakespeare for their match rods when Clive Smith and Ken Giles were once on their design team.

I personally would buy a shakespeare rod rather than a Dragon rod but thats just going on what I have heard as I have not used a Dragon rod myself.

Re: Feeder rods

One rod that I have I my armoury is a 20 year old 10ft Silstar Tradition Multi Tip Feeder Rod, and it really is quality, the blank is as thin as my as the tip of my little finger, packs a huge punch and is as light as a feather, its caught Big Tench, Big Chub, Barbel and Carp with little problem, oh and it likes to sing when fighting a big fish. Probably nigh on impossible to find ebay though, but they were cheap as chips when new.
