| Rivers - confused a little I didnt realise that you need a permit to fish the rivers in the UK. From what i can see reading about it there are only a few places with free fishing. What im asking i guess is: can you guys give me some good spots you anglers use on UK rivers please. Until i get used to my gear and what im actually doing i didnt wanna pay to fish just yet. Thanks guys Andy __________________ Feel free to check out my photo's www.facebook.com/saladdodgerphotography Twitter: UKAndyWilliams |

| Re: Rivers - confused a little Most rivers have portions called parish pegs which are free to fish, but most stretches are owned by angling clubs and for a yearly fee you can fish all of their waters. Id say go to your local tackle shop and ask them, but to be honest Id bite the bullet and join an angling club, whether your new or experienced we all have to pay sadly lol __________________ Species 2011.. | Re: Rivers - confused a little hi and welcome, I agree with M-T, its cheaper to join a local club than to pay day ticket prices, also the waters are looked after generally well, you can also go to group meetings, where info, on a club water would be given freely, if you fish day ticket or free water, info will be harder to obtain, be less scenic and less cared for, with litter, dog mess, etc. be brave spend £20 for a years subs, and glean whatever knowledge you require from the members, they will also have some club matches through the year and the occasional social evening, well worth the subs paid. whichever you choose good luck __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity. |

| Re: Rivers - confused a little there are a few clubs local, maidenhead and district, covers a lot of the thames, rank exrox at uxbridge, has rivers and lakes around uxb/denham. hayes and harlington, -------------------"----------------- uxbridge rovers, ---------------------"--------------- just a few, make a telephone call, they may be able to help regards most anglers are loner types, but it does help at times to mix. companys like RMC and BOYERS are to my mind to expensive, the smaller clubs offer value for money __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity. |
