| ok so back to the res i tried to fish for pike on only this time im going for the bream ,i intend on using- maggot feeder 12 foot feeder rod 6lb line with size 16 hook obviously maggot will be the main bait but i will also be taking corn and 10mm white shelfish boilie. my plan is to fish no more than 20-30 yards out and i will fish the small bay into which the wind tends to always blow as i said before its a gravel pit not many snags so do i have all the bases covered or is there more to consider when targeting big bream ?![]() __________________ give a man a fish and feed him for a day ,teach a man to fish and he will be gone for a week fishing is a discipline in the equality of men ,for all men are equal in the eyes of a fish |

| Re: some input please Dave I always used to use an open ended feeder with groundbait when targeting bream. with the rig & method here Swimfeeders I also used to boil my own hemp and save the liquor to use to mix the groundbait with. Worm & red maggot was a good bait cocktail in my time. Do others fish for bream on the venue? If so watch & ask. Good luck P. __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:> |

| Re: some input please used to be fished quite alot but in the last few years its dropped off ,theres usually 1 or 2 regulars who go on the odd day but really thats about it and a match hasnt been fished there for quite some time but people say this is becuase its a hard water to catch from so they go to commercials now for instant results i fished this water five or six times now and have only caught a roach so i really want to crack it and get a decent fish out ,ive seen pictures from a few years ago and some of the bream if they are still in there will be double figure by now __________________ give a man a fish and feed him for a day ,teach a man to fish and he will be gone for a week fishing is a discipline in the equality of men ,for all men are equal in the eyes of a fish |

| Re: some input please are there alot of carp in the pit? if so try carp tactics because ive noticed that most the ponds/lakes i go to for carp i catch at least 1 big bream at least 1 in every 3 trips so its made me think that bream are starting to feed on baits intended for carp...but also .. try pastes, put a small ball of past on the hook with the hook showing through pait this with a method feeder float(the float with feeder on the bottom), add roughly just over a golfball size of paste on that and stick the hook to the side and when the paste breaks away from the float the float will rise to the surface so u know where the hook and bait is.. u must set the depth quite accurately because the hook needs to be in the bed of paste left on the bottom hope this helps ninja __________________ A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work................
