| Float Rod Hi Guys, I'm looking to upgrade from my basic £20 rod/reel combo now I have decided fishing is definitely for me. I am using a waggler float, mostly fishing lakes for Roach, Bream, Carp etc... occasionally canals... and also now the season is open and not being too far from the Avon I’m sure I’ll be taking a trip there shortly as well. Basically I don't have a clue where to start! I've spent hours looking for reviews and help online for some ideas on what rod might be good for me but I’ve come out more confused than when i went in! I'm working on a rod budget of around £50 - £70. So far all I’ve figured is I want a commercial float rod with a good through action (???? maybe ???) If anyone could maybe recommend a few rods worth looking into that would be a great help! I will be going to my tackle shop for some help as well but didn't really want to turn up with nothing in mind. As far as reels go i think i am settled on a Drennan Series 7 reel, from what i could gather online this seems perfect for what I am after for about £30. Sorry for such a long post but I wanted to include as much as possible... the last thing I want is to fork out for something totally wrong for what i need. Cheers Sam |

http://www.tacklediscounts.co.uk/p-1...-rod-12ft.aspx A Drennan rod at £44.99 ? it sounds like a real bargain. Extract from above writeup Designed principally for commercial carp fishing this well balanced blank has enough through action power play and land big hard fighting carp. At the same time the tip is responsive enough to provide good line and float control and to make playing smaller silver fish plus tench and bream a really enjoyable process. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |

| Re: Float Rod Thanks a lot for that guys. I've a look around online now at this rod and it seems to be just what I'm looking for. Yet again another problem solved by this forum. :) |
