| Well ive been invited for a days pikeing on a really big res ive dabbled on the canal catching a few jacks but this water holds double figure pike so im wondering if i would be able to use my carping gear ie 13 foot 2.75 tc rod ,okuma reel lined with 12lb line .i also need to know if i have to upgrade mt traces to bigger stronger ones and any other info as to how to deal with big pike would be great the res is basically a big gravel pit not many features to observe and ill be spinning using plugs and lures . __________________ give a man a fish and feed him for a day ,teach a man to fish and he will be gone for a week fishing is a discipline in the equality of men ,for all men are equal in the eyes of a fish |

| Re: pike advice please i would be inclined to up the line to 15lb at least, most gravel pits have gravel bars that can ruin line very quickly, provided the wire traces are of a good quality and not kinked they should be fine mate best of luck let us know how you get on |
