Re: my 2 targets 2011/12 season

Hi covlad1987,

Im afraid I have never fished a Stillwater for Barbel so wouldn’t really be of much help with the Barbel in tunnel barn farm apart from suggesting you fish in the evenings and use meat, worms, maggots, pellets etc.;

Why on earth don’t you try for them from the Avon between Stratford and Warwick which is close to you?.

You will have a much better chance of catching some decent sized hard fighting Barbel in their natural environment.

There are loads of decent Barbel anglers on this site who can give you tips and pointers about where to find them in moving waters and the best baits and methods used to catch them from their normal environment of rivers and streams.

If you are still determined to catch a Stillwater Barbel then best of luck to you; however; I think you are missing a lot of the excitement that normal Barbel fishing has to give you.

Anyway good luck and tight lines

Keith (BoldBear)
