fishing on the river wear

Hi,
Does anyone know any good spots to fish on the river wear for silver fish and perch. However I'm looking for a spot that's free and somewhere I can stay in the night there in tents, like on scrub land in woods etc. I live in chester le street so the closer to the the better.
Hopefully someone can help.
