Spod Rod Setup

Ive Never Ever Spodded Im My Life, But After Some Convincing Ive Purchased My First Spod Rod. Ive Spoken To Some People And Some Local Tackle Shop Owners And Got Mixed Opinions On How To Set Up The Spod Rod.

Ive Been Told To Use 10 Mono To A Shockleader Also Been Told To Use 20lb Braid Straight Through To The Spod.

Im Looking At Using The New Spomb. Would Braid Straight Through Be The Best Idea? Or Could/Should I Use Braid With A Shockleader?

Any Suggestions Or Other Ideas?

Re: Spod Rod Setup

i use 10lb mono and a 60 lb shock , there is no stretch in braid , more chance of a crack off when clipped up . just remember to aim the rod tip horizontal when the spod /bomb hits the water
