Waders

I need to buy new welly boots so was thinking of getting a pair of waders instead.

So, these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ht_2303wt_1139

Or these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_1243wt_905

I want comfort and I want my body to be able to breath!
(I have a pair of waterproof trousers, and when i wear them over jeans/tracksuit bottom, my legs end up soaked and so do my jeans/tracksuit bottoms. This is obviously because my legs can breath!?)

Ive read that neoprene isnt very breathable? But those ones look better as they would hold a bit of heat in if i was standing in water!

Decisions, decisions

Re: Waders

I have the ones in the first link :) Neopreme Is good for winter fishing as it is warm, keeps the wind off. But you wil melt to death in the during summer. I find the waders good everything I expected to be honest. PM me if you have any wuestions about them

Waders ?? hmmm

being 'breathable' won't come into it unless you are talking extreme temperature, humidity or physical exertion - i can stand in a flotation suit all day and will only encounter a problem if im bait digging or hiking up the beach and sweating my nads off .

when you say your troosers get soaked in your waterproof bottoms is it from sweat or the damp ? .. could be that they are 'showerproof' and not totally waterproof ..being in the army you learn not to wear heavy layers but instead multiple light ones to trap the air and preserve heat.. Jeans are a right fooker under any waterproofs or flotation suit and trackie bottoms are much better ..
If your not gonna stand in the water that often i would go for a pair of lined wellies instead..waters would be pointless on the bank ...
If there is a lot of damp in the air on a night session i will stick the petrol lamp on in the beach buddy to take the moisture out the air - this works a treat as once you start to feel damp and cold its all downhill from there ....
I look like a cross between the taliban and a tramp when im fishing in the winter but i don't get cold and i certainly dont get wet ..

Re: Waders

Right i've been talked out of it by a few people. I wouldn't really be wading anyway, I just thought they would be handy to have. But, meh....

I've been told to get a decent pair of wellies instead. Can you advise me on anyway? I hear Skee-tex are a class job but I read that the inner can be crap in them if you're doing any walking.

???

im sure the liners are both washable and replaceable plus the new ones are a tough looking pair of boots

You might be onto something there mate! Check these out, they seem to tick all the boxes..!

http://www.mullarkeys.co.uk/fishing/...ndridge/10545/

Cheaper here... http://www.reelfishing.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=600036

The top link there - Seems to be the older pair? The bottom link obviously the new 2010 pair. The only thing is, the newer ones dont say anything about being able to take the inner out!

Re: Waders

Hi PH, have you thought of getting a pair of rubber thigh waders, you could fold them down to welly size.
