Which Pole!!!! Hi Guys, I'm new in town and need some proffesional advice. I've been holidaying on canals throughout Britain now for about five years. During this period I have been fishing the canals with a small waggler outfit. Well I've had enough of tree and bush fishing, I'm going to invest in a pole. Where do I start! Poles are this length that length, this weight that weight, totally baffled! Looked on E-Bay, is this a good thing to do, or do I buy new? Proffesional advice required of which pole and set ups required please.

Re: Which Pole!!!! A Maver Totality 6.8m margin pole is a great pole and retails at about £50 for the pole and 2 top kits. At 6.8 it should be long enough for most canal fishing.

Re: Which Pole!!!! I have just purchased a Daiwa Yank n Bank, it is 10.5 mtr long, come with two power top two's (for carp etc...) and and a match top three (for smaller fish) got it on ebay for £100 plus £16 postage. it is a bit short for some venues but an ideal all round starter pole I would not touch second hand poles, unless they are nearly new. check out polecompare on the web, it gives you the rough price guide, reviews of the poles and place to purchase the poles, a very good site Darrell
