Spinning advice needed

Hi Im new to fishing and I inherited my Dads spin rod which is an 8' graphite 10-35g rod. My questions are these ; could I use this rod on pike and zander, and what reel do I need to spin for these fish also what line should I use? Thank you all in advance for any and all information. Im real keen to get out there and fish.

Its a bit light really ,better suited in my eyes for spinning for perch /chub
you need something between 70/100 grammes for pike /zander
as for a reel
something like this will start you off

Fishing with that set up i would use a max of 10 lb

A good cheap pike spinning rod

For Zander the 35gr. rod should be fine (although from the rod to rod 35gr. might not be really 35gr.) so you can start with, especially if you buy a good reel.
Bigger pike could have much stronger run for 35gr. rod.
