| Re: Method MIX Hi. I am no expert, but my method mix contained - hemp, adzuki beans, black eyed peas, (also chick peas if you want a larger type particle in the mix - plus add pigeon conditioner too if you want) all soaked and boiled. I then added the boiled pulses plus the water they were in to Vitalin, and mixed it all in, adding more boiling water if necessary. Then added some sweetcorn and molasses, and mixed that in. I leave it overnight, checking it in morning to ensure it is thick enough for the method (I dont like it too stodgy or thick, but a bit moist..each to their own), and added more molasses if necessary. The Vitalin is the ingredient that binds all the ingredients together. There are loads of different things you can add, and no doubt a more experienced carp angler will have more info to add, but the above seems to work for me on the waters I fish. I usually use 2 plastic pop up sweetcorn, with split shot to balance it, or 1 piece of plastic maize seems to do the trick too. |

| Re: Method MIX Just experiment m8 , I think thats the beauty of the method , as long as you have a binder like groundbait or vitalin you can pretty much add any particle you want, I also add a few tins of tuna for added attraction. and like baz T I use fake corn or a small boilie . __________________ Species 2011.. | Re: Method MIX gavm631, you asked the very question i was going to. I'm just getting back into fishing after a break of several years and it all seems to be about the method feeder way so, i too am thinking of giving it a go. I've been to 'study' and 'observe' and couple of local waters and they are stocked with carp around the 2-12lb mark plus one lake has fish to 30lb+. I hope to be trying one of the venues this monday and i am getting my 'mix' ready. i have hemp and sweet corn of which i have saved the water i used to boil the hemp in to add to my mix along with the pond water when i get there. I also might try adding a tin of tuna. Anyone know is there any preference as to which is best. i'm thinking the one in oil as i think this would have a good leakage property and hopefully attract fish. I'm thinking of using sweet corn as hook bait and will also have a go with luncheon meat too. I will be interested to see any results you on your first attempt on 'the method'. |
