Re: fishing snags!

Firstly i would not encourage anyone to fish the snags at night but if you must then this is how. THe aim is not to give the fish any line what so ever.

1 Up your b/s of line used
2 have your bobbins set right up under the rod blanks
3 dont use your baitrunner facility on your reels
4 set your clutch to fish fighting tension before you cast
5 This is a must.....sit by your rods at all times!
6 DO NOT leave a snag rod in the water if you are going to sleep in a bivvy or if you are going for a pee!
7 make sure your first rod ring is right up against the buzzer
8 use a rear butt grip that will stop your rod being pulled forwards and make sure any rests /pod is securley anchored in the ground.

Re: fishing snags!

i use a lead clip with the tail rubber just holding on the clip. if a fish picks up and shakes its head the lead jetisons. more chance of getting a fish back through snags and roots when no lead on the line

Re: fishing snags!

thats ok but when it breaks still leaves a lead and some line in the water! Another way is to tie mainline to a swivel then tie 3 inches of mainline to another swivel with your hooklength on. then push one end of one swivel in the inline lead and the other swivel in the other end of the inline lead. The joint between the swivels runs over the top of the lead. when a fish picks up both swivels pop out of the lead and your in direct contact with the fish simples!
