 fishing local lake 2010 report!!!! went to local lake today with me Dad ,armed with two tins of luncheon meat and bread, we baited up an area and started fishing, but i couldn't resist to go stalking for the biguns, and it payed off. i found a nice spot under a tree , it was a channel joining the two big lakes together with some BIG carp cruising, i chose this spot because the wind was blowing all bits of bait and food towards this area of the lake,,and within an hour of me being snapped once and being taken into the lillies and reeds 3 times, i hooked an 8lb common on float fished spam i left the swim for a while as the carp were spooked and got back to find my dad had caught 6 bream and 3 roach using sweetcorn juice soaked bread,so i went after bream using the lift method with sweetcorn and got some nice fish out! i then decided to go to the shoal of carp again.but i knew they were spooked from spam so i put a very large piece of floating crust on the edge of a Lilly pad. and after a long wait and a very good fight i pulled out another nice common.
