i've eaten pike, eels & grayling along with the trout n salmon.

but i can't really recomend them as tasty exept the trout/salmon and eels when hot smoked

• Ladies and Gentlemen used to have Gudgeon eating parties on the banks of the Thames a few hundred years ago they are considered extremely tasty when fried like whitebait.
• The Perch is considered by some to be one of the tastiest fish in british waters (including sea fish) however there are not enough of them to make it commercially viable.
• The Pike was once more expensive to buy in the UK than Salmon however I once had a chef friend cook one for me and I can't see why. although they eat Pike in France and parts of Europe.
• In some parts of eastern Europe the Carp is traditionally eaten as part of the Christmas dinner instead of the Turkey like we have in the UK. and of course the monks used to rear them in stew ponds for the table.

Most Medieval manor houses and all abbies had freshwater ponds for the rearing of coarse fish for the table. There are some wierd and wonderful recipes on the internet that originate from this time
