New Idea To Liven Up Match Fishing

Just a thought but let me run this past you all and see what you think. Instead of the usual match fishing concept of best weight wins how about this instead. Everyone draws their pegs then six balls go into a bag each ball represents a known species of fish at that venue. Someone draws out a ball and you have to fish for that species. If you are fishing for bream and you catch a carp you cant put it in your net. Best weight of targeted species wins! Would be a laugh and would hone everyones skills into catching all the species and not relying on a couple of big carp to win a match. People might then appreciate its not the only species to fish for. Imagine a celebrity match

sounds fun but wouldnt it be better to have matches for 1 species eg a roach match the may be a bream match?
as if everyone goes for diffrent speices the guy that drew the most common spieces will win or if its done on weight a guy that gos for car or tench will get bigger weights that someone on roach and dace so would have to go on amount of fish but thats still no rair as roash and bream are normaly in big sholes.

Used to do silver fish matches years ago and any carp caught regardless of size was classed as 1oz, they used work really well,you be amazed how many anglers had forgoten how to fish for silver fish.

best weight wouldnt work mate ! if you drew a ball that had say dace or roach on it and someone got common bream or carp you would have to get about 10 times as many fish lol !
