Hi guys i need to pick some brains ![]() Due to my fishing buddies being a lot less committed than me I end up fishing a lot on my own... And often have to bug a few other anglers to take photos for me.. Which normally they are more often than not happy to oblige. :) But I would like to be able to self take myself if possible.. I was wondering what you camera you guys recommend I was thinking maybe something with a remote. Which I could place in a Cllear bag and hold while and press while holding the fish. Also seen a good concept in one of the mags called a self take kit with a lead and you use your knee I think this would be a more comfortable way to do it. Ideally I need a camera that the screen can be pulled out and switches around so I can see myself. (I often rush with the timer and end up with a rubbish pic) i want something quick and simple as I don't want the fish out of the water anymore than I have to... Any reccommendations. I don't really have a price range obviously as cheap as possible but I want it to be a good quality and reliable. Cheers guys

Re: Camera for self takes :) Many of the better point and shoot Nikons have a fold out screen so you can set the timer and check composition in the screen. Alternatively Samsung do a camera with a screen on the front as well as the back for the same purpose __________________ I am in shape. ROUND is a shape!

Re: Camera for self takes :) I use a GE 12.2 Megapixels E1255W the Camera is x5 optical zoom which fine for the photos i do, It has a 10 sec delay for self portraits, which is what you were saying. I also got a wychwood camera thread adaptor that can be screwed into a bank stick. saves carrying around a tri pod. The camera in auto mode will do close ups automatically and it has Face rec built in. Battery is recharable and spare batteries are 5.99 on ebay, great little camera for fishing. Finepix do some great cameras as well that are compact. I paid £80.00 for my camera but you can get them cheaper now. Hope this helps Steve __________________ Born to fish made to work

Re: Camera for self takes :) Just Purchased Online Today The Lumix G1 With The Extra Lens Which Is Meant For Lesuire Activities, Also Ordered The Remote Cable Which Allows You To Take Self Pics. I Chose The Lumix G1 As The LCD Screen Turns Around So You Can See What Your Taking When Doing A Self Picture. Also Though It Would Be A Gd Idea To Invest In Gd Camera Now So I Can Use It To Take Pics As The Children Grow Up, Hoping To Also Use The Camera For Some Of The Things WDAC Have In Mind For Next Season, Down Side Was The Price Of The Camera, £450 For The Camera £289 For The Extra Lens.

Re: Camera for self takes :) Simon, Panasonic and Sony(Minolta) are rumoured to be developing the camera systems of tomorrow for the consumer market. Chances are those lenses will be worth more in a couple of years than you paid for them. The camera bodies will of course be obsolete in six months as is the way with digital. The smart money always invests in the lenses. Unless you are a Canon shooter of course, whoops! lol __________________ I am in shape. ROUND is a shape!

Re: Camera for self takes :) The way i do it is, lay the fish in the landing net on the ground, use my seatbox as the camera tripod, tilt the camera til the fish is in shot, then focus on the fish & start timer and tilt the camera back up, then i get in position & make sure i don't move the fish away or towards the camera. __________________ UK Coarse Fishing Records Android App
