Travel spinning rod Hi, I need some help/advice. I've recently started using bigger jerkbaits and swimbaits (up to 10" / 125g) and need a rod that can handle these - my current spinning rod hasn't got the power. Problem is I can't find anything that matches what I want. Am I looking in the wrong place? These are the specs of what I'm after: - 7' to 8' in length - minimum 3 pieces (for travelling) - cast lures up to 125g Don't think I'm being too fussy(!) but can't find anything. Please help.

Re: Travel spinning rod This may interest you but not quite 125g's....Shimano Beastmaster, 50-100g. overall length 9ft 6in 5 pieces including a reducer that takes the rod down to 8ft 6ins, absolute beauty, fuji eyes, the laquer coating is unbelievable, superb finish. £100.00 quid. No I'm not selling it! ![]() .Hope this is useful...to be honest i reckon it could handle lobbing 125g's but it says 100g on the tin.

Re: Travel spinning rod Thanks Captain C. Agree the Beastmaster looks like a great rod and I love Shimano rods so it's one I'd looked at... ...but it's a little longer (and heavier) than I was hoping for. How do find it after several hours fishing? Just wish Shimano, or anyone else for that matter(!), did a shorter travel rod that could handle larger/heavier lures. I'll keep looking and if anyone else has got a suggestion for a rod I'd love to hear it. Thanks again Cap.

Re: Travel spinning rod Here's an option: Shimano Tribal Lite Multi Travel, 7'6", 5 piece, 2.75lb TC. http://www.harrissportsmail.com/Mode...?ModelID=16451 I've read that it can cast to 100g. But has anyone got any experience of spinning with this rod?
