Braid for pike fishing Has anyone hear off or even used sufix GYRO braid. I've Just purchased a 150m spool, Is it prone to wind knotting in the 20lb, 0.21mm. or will it do the job? I'm looking to use it for general spinning/deadbaiting for pike in my local still water & cannals.

Re: Braid for pike fishing The best way to prevent wind knotting is to massivly underfill the reel. This then helps the braid to peel off and prevent iit from bedding in. tj

Re: Braid for pike fishing I use braid for spinning. I hav eheard that its a wise move to use a floatig braid if you're using a drift float to get your baits some way out. I guess a lot of it boils down to the venues you're fishing and how the weather/fishing dictates what you need to do to get amongst the fish. Oooops sounds like I'm sitting on the fence with this but braid does have pros, as well as cons. I would spool one up with braid, but have mono as well, then you can change as you feel the situation deserves.
