Yes agree worms do take some beating for all fish however I tend to keep to big boilees at the main water I fish as no matter what size the lob I use they get attacked by skimmers and silvers, they're a pain. OK with the dabs and flounders, I fish in the Dee at Farndon with worm and have had some surprisingly big dabs on worm there and that's way inland too. Keep doing as well as you obviously are. | Re: How can you 'Pop Up' a worm ? Hi thanks, Certainly a paternoster or French Boom would do the trick fine but think of the looks you'd get! mind you when you look at Commercial Carp fishing it's nothing less than small time sea fishing anyway. Just think of it, look at the size of some of the hooks a size#2 is not uncommon with a row of 6 x 22mm boilees, 50lb lead braid, 2oz or heavier lead sometimes 2 off, 25lb main braid. A 2.75 or 3lb TC rod need I go on ?? So maybe it won't be long before we see paternosters as well. Thanks for the idea Peter . |

| Re: How can you 'Pop Up' a worm ? I stalk surface Carp in the Summer using large lobworms injected with air from a syrynge. Its a great bait for surface stalking close in. or using as a popup from the bottom. Just inflate the head section. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |
