Re: New to Fishing. You can catch anything on maggots but will be mainly little fish to start with. feed little and often and you should bring the bigger fish in. You will find it easyer to start with small fish and work your way up. Where are you fishing? Diffrent places/fish take diffrent tactics.

Re: New to Fishing. Well mate the best and only way to learn the art of fishing is trial & error realy, but you can also buy a weekly paper called the anglers mail which is issued every Tuesday thats full of usefull info, tackle, baits, rigs & also which species are catchable in certin weather conditions. So hopefully 1 blank won't put you off just yet.

Re: New to Fishing. Sorry to dig up old thread.. I use worms and seem to have no problem, most successful bait for me overall, occasionally I use sweetcorn but don't get that much luck on it (though I have caught with it a few times).

Re: New to Fishing. Alright Zac. When i started fishing i too started with course fishing. The other lads seem to have given you a great start with the Know how and the Know where. Remember though this is certanly not the best time of year for course fish, so if you blank don't be down about it. Just think in just a few month the waters will have warmed and the fish will be active and feeding well again. Tight lines pal.
