funny incidents that have happened when your alarms go off.

We all must have a funny story to tell of something that has happened when your alarms have ripped off in the middle of the night.

in france last year mine went off for the first time in the dark overnight
I sprang up like a gazzelle(not) took 1 pace out of the bivvy and collapsed with agoniseing cramp in leg, deep breathed then hobbled crawled to pod and missed fish totally, and then waited for 3 days for next run

Re: funny incidents that have happened when your alarms go off.

It wasn't in the middle of the night, but I was away trying to catch a few silver fish when the alarms screamed off and the run to the rod pod to save deep hooking was a lot quicker than expected I managed to slip down the bank and give my rod pod a lovely two footed tackle, which sent rods flying and bent the main structure along with sheering off the threads on a piece of it, but apart from that I can't recall anything else,

Re: funny incidents that have happened when your alarms go off.

4 of us fishing loch awe for the pike, had 2 bivvies up side by side, was sleeping then next thing heard one of our alarms go, i was still a bit groggy so my mate from the next bivvy shouts "mine, got it"! he ran out the front of his bivvi, then for some reason ran round the back, realised his mistake and headed straght for the glow sticks we'd hung all over the rod pod, next thing a 15 stone bloke comes ploughing through our bivvy, he was line a bulldozer going through a garden shed!
he was missing that fish for nothing, not even our lives lol
