| Fishing trip Me and my dad went fishing today on a fairly big lake. We were using ledger tips with swim feeders. We filled the swim feeder with ground bait and maggots. But with 7 hours we only got 3 definite bites. Unfourtunatley we missed these bites. We used worms and maggots but didn't really get much action. Has anybody got any tips for me about ledgering. ![]() |

| Re: Fishing trip It may have been the ground bait or the fish just where't feeding. Just keep trying different ground bait and keep trying. Good luck |

| Re: Fishing trip I would say that it would be the sheer size of the water, if the water is large then the only way to succesfully get a good catch is to prebait a swim, over here in Northern and Southern Ireland it is the norm to prebait a large water system like Lough Erne or waters similiar to it. Hope this helps, BW __________________ We're Leeds and We're Proud of it, We're Leeds... 8.10am 21st June 2009 My Dreams Came True >> 21lbs 4oz Pike |

| Re: Fishing trip Try and go back to the same place often if possible and keep fishing in the same area after a whilethe fish will start to come to this area to feed. Also try using a catapult to keep your swim well baited, if a shoal comes through the area of your bait and there isn't enough groundbait the fish will have moved on before they get the bait.
