how are you doin m8, im from glasgow and always fish loch awe, mostly bank fishing, i fish both the orchy and the awe aswell for salmon. round at the dam where the river goes out that is where the record brown trout came out, but is not usualy that good for camping. if you head round past the castle there are cracking bays that you will get very large pike in and the chance of a few brownies. the tight lines is a good pub for a few bevys.

Thanks for the replie mate. That sounds good. Is round by the dam the only place that is not the best for camping? It would be mostly bank fishing we would be doing, whats your favoured rig/bait for there? As i said, kinda new to this game, eager to learn and maybe even catch something else than the cold! I did stumble upon this site, http://www.fishinginuk.co.uk/pages/book_loch_awe1.htm but i wasnt sure how up-to-date the info was, like the two maps near the bottom of the page etc.

you camp down by the dam and have the good chance of a fish but its rite by the road and alot of tree,s for the casting, the closer you get to the dam the faster the water becomes which means more casting and more casting in the dark when tree,s are about only causes problems.
