Re: novice help me lol

This might help you out it helped me out when i started to float fish

http://www.coarsefish.net/float.htm

All i can say is have a mix of floats from clear to weighted lots of shots Weighted floats are the best for float fishing for me as they dont requaire a shotted line or maby a copple of small 1 just to sink the bait i would start of with wighted floats as there quite easy to use i fined.

The best floats to use are called puddlechuckers as they are weighted and can be used anywhere, they also clip onto youre line so you can change your float without setting up again.

Re: novice help me lol

what are you fishing for and where?i use floats on my local canal and tend to stick to small floats that can we weighed down with a couple of bb's they seem to give really clear indication of bites and you can cast them for miles (egsageration )but pretty far start with preweighted ones and take it from there.

Re: novice help me lol

a tip regardng shotting ...
have a table somewhere in your tackle/seat box showing what each weight is (name) & it's weight, that way, you can use different weights to make up the correct weight of shot required for any float, in any pattern.
i've written on the inside of my seatbox the table, along with different types of knots, including the slip knot. you may not be able to write inside your box, so maybe print a copy of the table & pop it into a plastic envelope.
hope this helps
