Smile Landing nets.

Today after 3 weeks of wating for landing net it came. All i can say is i messed up BIG time it dident rellise how big a 42inch landing net. Was till i got it out its bigger then my radator in my house.I could put my dog and baby in and there still would be room for 1 more. I rang the company up when i was looking for 1 and i ask i am only going for medium size fish and. The lady said this net would be fined perfect in fact what a-load. Of c*** that was its massive i am only 16 and.I could use it as an over night tent i am lucky it was cheap £20. 42inch landing net with 2.2 meater teliscopic pole. So my advice come on hear and. Ask i am looking for a lading net to catch meduim sized fish any help?

Re: Landing nets.

Sorry to hear you made a mistake buying a big landing net. I know the nets you mean the massive triangle specimen ones. I have 3 landing nets wich i use depending on where and what im fishing for. When you say medium size fish what species are you talking about? I use a 24 inch Middy Baggin Machine speed spoon net for a local venue where i mainly catch carp between 4-8lb.It is a brilliant design i can strongley recomend it.I have found landing hard fighting carp easyer than a normal round net. I think you can get it in 3 sizes 22,24 and 26inch if i remember correctly. If you are catching smaller species like roach perch or skimmers a round 20inch or smaller will do. As for price what you paid for your big net you could get get 2 decent quality nets.I paid 11 quid for my 24inch speed spoon and less than 8 quid for my 18inch Middy round black match net. Hope that helps

Re: Landing nets.

I bet you you would also feel a bit daft if someone saw you landing an 8oz roach in a 42" net.
Atleast with a 20" net you can land smaller fish comfortably and you will find you can still land pretty big fish aswell.
Good luck with your search.

Re: Landing nets.

dont worry too much about having a net thats too big liverpolcrew2020,

look at it this way,you can get a small fish in a big net but you will struggle to get a big fish in a small net,its best to be prepared mate, you don't want to lose a fish of a lifetime just because your net is too small do you
