Freshwater fishing holidays

Hey everybody i am looking to go on a fishing holiday with the girlfreind around nottingham and down that way we are looking a for a lodge caravan hotel etc under £150 anno not a big budget but we are straped for money thats what i keep telling her i am saving up for a new rod but thats all shhhsshhh so is there anywere down near nottingham and around the sourding area for a week near my birthday 20th may so its next month so far the cheappiest i have a found is £260 too much for just 1 week and you had to get a day ticket EVERY DAY so dose any 1 no were i can go freshwater fishing in nottingham/srounding area about 30mills out of nottingham as i have no car so i near a lake/pond in walking dis the last resort is sitting on the tolite with the fish tank in the bath

if you can slum it in a tent for a week, you could try cheating & looking on the camping & caravanning website, search for sites around notts, just tick fishing, will include sites with fishing on site & nearby.
check the prices & then phone the site, some take non-members & may should still be low season, so fairly cheap pitches.
good luck with finding somewhere though.

i said that to her and she went mad it was soo funny its for my birthday so she is saying she will pay for it witch i dont agree with but its getting harder and harder to find somewere we found a camp site what was 8 pppn its was a wooden brivvi all it was was 4 walls and a roof no elecy no nothing the tolit block was a 5 min walk down to the river i am thinking of booking it just to see how she reacts lol

I live here, Fresh water fishing is not at all like it is in the States. Most fishing is in Pay Ponds for raised fish. In BKK, Chiang Mai and many other places you can catch VERY large Pla Kong, Arapaima, Barramunda, Pla Choa Phraya, Pla Sawai, Pla Toman, and such in these venues.
