Smile Smoothound meet 2007 Venue & Date

Well previous polls have decided that the Smutt should be in July & in the Solent area. Gullyworm has looked at the tide tables & suggested that we fish on the 14th July. High tide is around midnight give or take 20 minutes or so depend where we decide to fish & there's a tide height of 4.6m.
So now we need to decide where on the solent to fish.....
The following venues have been proposed.

-Lepe
-Warsash
-Selsey
-Beaulieu

I have only fished Selsey & cannot comment on the on the other choices. Please take into account factors such as space, parking, weather, distance to walk, can the venue be fished at low & high water & good local pubs etc when voting...

Re: Smoothound meet 2007 Venue & Date

still gonna sit on the fence with regard to venue for now,
i'm not that fussed where , all the nominations sound a good plan,

personal thoughts;-

lepe, will the carparks still get locked at 8pm in the summer?
i dont know where the smutts show best here, if its just the deep water mark @ standsore point its a bit of a wander.( i know where i'd go if i were feeling lazy) . pubs;- nearest villages, a couple o mile.

warsash, i've not been there yet, but reports sound good, pubs ? got to be one somewhere nearer than the spinnaker @ burseldon

selsey, options of east/west beaches, but prone to storms. pubs, in town 1/2 mile or so.

beaulieu, ok fishing, people may need to research location well. pubs, i dunno where the nearest would be.

i don't know about warsash, but all venues prone to summer weed problems but that goes hand in glove with smutt hunting.

good luck in 2007, will geffski lift the trophy again?

Re: Smoothound meet 2007 Venue & Date

to put your mind at rest geejayy there are 3 pubs in the village only 1/2mile away from the venue at warsash
witha a good tide like that i think almost all beach's are going to be busy and although marks llike selsy are huge they do get very busy
i think its best decided when we know the weed situation

I moved out of a flat using a Vespa T5 to carry everything when I was 19. Lots of storage space That reminds me, I must get on and finish the Lambretta by this summer.
