geffski has a spectacular aura aboutgeffski has a spectacular aura about
we not getting glum ar we?

ok we ar probly (maybe) looking at some fairly rubbish conditions
for ar smut hunt!
and i can feel for those that have waited a long time for this social
and have commited them selves to bait orders, days off work
passes from ther partners! and above all months of antisipation!
(me included)

ok so every thing stays as it is as far as time and place meet up!
now worst case scenario, its blowing a hooligan, we ar knee deep in weed!
my question: wot other areas along that coast will be fishable?
(we have to bare in mind peaple ar travling for this so no massive detors)!

any ideas?

Re: we not getting glum ar we?

It all depends on how far you want to travel?

Last year when the weed was bad we ended up fishing warsash and caught plenty of smuts, the downside to this is ,it faces into the prevailing wind so if its windy? With high water at 0100 ish it wouldnt be worth fishing untill 2100 and its about 30 miles from selsey.
If its blowing a south westerly and weeded up i would suggest giving pagham and aldwick a bash, there will prob be weed but it wont be as bad as selsey.
I think its a case of meet up have a pint and decide on the day, i m going to go down selsey on thursday night to have a look,i ll keep nipping into Allans aswell to see how places are fishing.
Whatever the conditions we ll find somewhere to drown worms

Re: we not getting glum ar we?

Looking at the weather today it boosted my spirits somewhat. Mind you it's too late for me now, I've already made some rigs up and loaded my seatbox!

Did wonder about trying for stingray at Climping. Don,t think it's too far from Selsey. Never been there so not sure. Have to ask Ollie. If nobody catches any fish I may have to award the Trophy to the person with the tidyest seatbox LOL.

Re: we not getting glum ar we?

Personally i wouldn't go for climping over selsey as I'm sure there will be a chance of a smut even before the water starts running over selsey if its dirty and the weather hasn't done climping much good in my opinion and id say the chances for a stinger down there on Saturday is slim!!

Don't worrie.....if it went down to tidy-est seatbox I'm out of the runnings!! lol but we don't want to go there.....im sure there will be a few fish at least!

Ollie.
