Forum Smutt Meet 2006 Details

i will need to know what type of rigs or set up will be required remember i know nothing so please explain each set upp as simply as possible would be appreciated

if a long cast is needed i think i will fish close in for other species as i reckon i don,t cast above about 70 yards out and maybe 80yrds at a push but knowhere near a 100yrds thats for sure.
so there for i will need to know what rigs i might need for what might be swimming near where i might be casting .

If you can put your bait out around the 70 yrd mark and we are fishing a big tide i cant see you gonna have any trouble picking up the hounds mate....to be honest im not a great caster and hit around the 100 yrd mark baited and that normally gets me in the smut run! I tend to use 60lb leader and 25lb hook length on a clip down rig of about three foot hook length try to use the least amount of knots as possible and always check you hook snoods as they get worn pretty quick due to rubbing on the smuts skin! im sure someone will come along with some more info for you but if not i'll give you a run down on the day.......wont take two mins to knock a rig or two up for ya!
