Re: Forum Smoothound (Smut) meet. Who's interested

south coast smutty info,
but Don't trust it as i've caught nothin' bar pups fer the last couple of seasons, so i expect someone will correct me.

last year, i didn't hear of any shorecaught till june,

venue, eastern solent favorite for numbers+ best specimens, ie, warsash-pagham. but i read a good report from lepe later in the season.

day/night, darkness usually most productive.

toptip, don't forget to set the drag on your reel, and/or don't leave rods unattended.

sounds like this could be a good get together
gj.

Re: Forum Smoothound (Smut) meet. Who's interested

on the subject of bait supply greenheart, no need for expencive peelers n hermits, during the summer most of the time i used a big bucket full of hard backs i collected down the beach, worked just as well
as for time of day i would suggest getting there at about 5 so people can have fun with bream, schoalies and some smoothounds, and after dark people can go for smoothounds, and maybe the odd bass
when it comes to time of year i think we have to wait closer to the time, like acouple of weeks befor hand, mainly because they might turn up late, or early, or not at all
and there is no point in having a smoothound meet without smoothounds
