| Re: 2011 Smutt meet. The report It's now Tuesday afternoon, and I am at last sufficiently awake to be able to add my bit, such as it is. For me, it all started with a 9am rap on my front door from Ian, aka Greenheart, the eager young pup who lived a few doors down the road. Thankfully it wasn't one of his famously early starts. [Incidentally, I still owe him for the cod, chips and Polish beer, but I'm hoping he's forgotten] Then off to Southampton for a dropnet and some bait. Something I've learnt is that you can have a net or have fish, but you can't have both together. The writing was on the wall... One of the problems with not catching fish or getting bites, is that you don't use much bait. Ian and I bought 180 worms between us, approx 150 of which are now in my fridge, clinging on to life and hoping to make it to the weekend. Anyhow, we all had a bit of fun, and very well done to Gordon on his stunning victory and to Hartley for his little bass. There's always next year... ![]() |
