cant we make it worthing? ok yeah its just down the road from me but the smut run is insane!
if its not on on the dates picked fine! brighton marina is just 15m away, fishable in all states of the tide
always a chance at a smutt, big bass, float fishing heaven for gar, maks, wrasse and pollock, even a squid if thats your bag. spider crabs on the peel easily picked up with a drop net, (the smutts and huge eels love em)
free parking, 24hr asda for beer. tackle shop. live prawn easily collected at low tide, (floating for bass with thes is killer) sheltered watever the wind direction, barbys no problem, for the non drivers its easy to get to, train and no7 bus drops you right ther! lastforum social i had ther was with WSF late in the season, mate next to me had one a 16lb i followed that up 2hrs from low tide with a 12lb on a 2.5tc carp rod "the smutt run" was suposedly over at this point! still most left with a good few macks and a few atlest with healthy braces of bass.
the place is marsheld so no generaters and yobos :-] but i digress worthings goring beach on the run is just silly!
2 years back the unoficial shore record came out at 23lb (if my memory serves me)if you have peeler and can cast 80-100 yards your gana get bent up simple, this mad run lasts about 2-3 weeks so bit of a lottery so the marina is a great back up!
