if theres space for an old git i may drag my sorry arse down from essex,

3 years i have been trying selsey for a decent smutt and havent managed it yet.

then again my fishing availability in the summer is a nightmare as i tend to do 7 days a week 14 hours a day, so i only manage between 1 and 3 trips and the weather always conspires against me

Hmm, I have a new pair of waders and know of a huge rock pool in Paignton with loads of hermit crabs. I've got an 11 foot estuary rod too. I think I have the beginnings of the kit to compete. Or at least turn up without looking like a burk anyway! LOL

He he yeah. as you go down to Paignton from Torquay, you have to join the one way system heading to the sea front.

Where the road bends to the right, hang a left and go right to the end of the beach huts. Just under the headland is a massive permenant rock pool.

i reckon the south coast has some of the best smutt fishing going pagham / hill head will be my choice

Nah, Hayling for pretty well guaranteed smuts and they're not pups!
