Talking Re: smutt meet 2009

I hope to get down there at around midday. Any suggestions on where to fish Dave. Oh & we may have an alternative to Pingu pie's this year. Twiddlers Pizza....

Smutt meet 2009 a week to go

Kirikomi & I are planning to arrive around 18:00.
Am not expecting the fishing to take off till dusk/dark so...
Is anyone coming who can give a bit of casting instruction.
Will be bringing a 15ft rod & 7ht mag reel if anyone else wants to have a play (if it nests it nests)...
Wont be using it for the smutts as prefer something I know that works & I am confident with (f/s).
If most peeps are turning up earlier - is there anything that needs to be cold required that I can bring later (home made wine - frozen gateau etc..).
Latest forecast is showing westerly with rain .
If correct then the beach will be clear of holidaymakers.
Looking forward to it.

Sadly it looks like I won't make it to this one, as I won't get paid in time and might have to work that weekend

Ian, I wouldn't even feed the pizza's to my animals, never mind my friends....they wouldn't even make good bait lol

Home made wine & gateau sounds good. I know Pingus had some casting lessons, so hopefully he can help you out. I still use the good old overhead thump....

Ha! Right, here we go, the Pingu guide to casting.....

1.) Open beer.
2.) Drink beer to loosen mussels.
3.) Put rod together.
4.) Open beer.
5.) Drink beer to relax mind of negative aura.
6.) Attached liney holder thing to rod thingy with broken plastic thing.
7.) Open beer
8.) Drink beer to calm rage from broken plastic seat reel thingy.
9.) Thread vrey thin line stuff, in little holes. Drop rod, lose line.
10.) Start threading again.
11.) Open beer
12.) Drink beer to celebrate threading line in VERY stupid small little holes.
13.) Remove line and replace reel thingy with handel on correct side.
14.) Open beer
15.) Drink beer in preparation to re-thread line stuff.
16.) attach lead with best double over hand granny.
17.) Open beer
18.) Drink pre-lift off beer.
19.) Very carfully arrange feet and assume stance with feet at 45 deg angle, right arm bent, left arm straight, shoulder high. Clench.
20.) Wave lead around in best twirly fashion. Pretend this makes a difference.
21.) KIN WELLY IT AS HARD AS YOU CAN.
22.) Open beer
23.) Drink dejected beer at lead now 100's of miles away, yet no longer attached to reel.
24.) Give up picking out birds nest, drink more beer.

It's funny 'cause it's true.
