Re: smut meet 2007 report

feeling less knackered at last and looking back
best bits were
1:the usual good forum banter and social(although a little harder than some other meets as never wanted to go too far from rods incase)
2:when i was playing my fish in surf seeing it in the water with its fin out like a proper shark, a first too see as usually only get in dark or our beaches really coloured water
3:decided was more of a booze fest as well, so cheers for the beers ian, rich ,mike and claudia (ladies lager drink for the ladies, and rob )for the port or 2 (as forgot any other drink sure this helped stave off dehydration ) oh and the beers in pub before
4: scabbing tips and tactics etc from other people
5: the bacon and egg bap from the greezy spoon on way home
6: baggie in hysterics on way home (reciting monty python )as was hyper on tiredness(as was i really)

cheers again all

dave

Re: smut meet 2007 report

What can I say which hasn't been said before.....a great forum meet, I enjoyed meeting up with old friends again, smily Baggie, Pie Ping, Greenheart and Banana Steve.

Fantastic to have met some more forum members like Sparhill and hi lovely wife, lazarus, Muzzer and friend crayfish, Geejay and son Ashley and Maghouse (well done on winning the comp, well deserved).

What can I say.....considering I usually blank at shore fishing, I managed to catch lol , well if you can consider a 2oz pout a catch lol, still I had a fantastic time, in fact, so fantastic that I went to bed shortly after we got home (8.30am sun) and slept through until 5am this morning lol.

Here a few more pics of the day

Sparhill taking precaution

Who ate all the pies? We have evidence lol

Lazarus

Sparhill and his lovely wife Karen chilling

Muzzer and Crayfish

Mike fighting with the crabs

Geejay trying to tempt the smutt with Ping's pies

Ashley having fun flattening the beach

Baggie smiling as always

a beautiful sunset

Talking Re: smut meet 2007 report

And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying,'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou mayest blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats.......

Ahhh Blessed are the Cheesemakers.

Re: smut meet 2007 report

Great report! Me and my friend Lossandmagic (a new member who has yet to post) decided to call it a day around 2am. He caught the first smoothound, being a massive 31.5cm. On one report it said that I had caught the first. Sadly I never managed to catch one, but I did catch a small bass and a small pout/whiting. Good to put some faces to names. All in all a great day had by all. Looking foreward to the next meet.

Haha told you Dave....Muzzer is Mr. Crayfish........sorry about the mix up, Dave is getting senile in his old age lol

Mind you, to be fair, I almost got it wrong too....it's def an age thing

It was great meeting both of you hope we'll meet again for a fishing session soon.
