| Re: $100000000 dollars a week In North America football (soccer) is generally a low profile sport as far as TV contracts & veiwership are concerned. These contracts supply the great majority of the money & popularity for the teams. I cannot see this contract or others like it paying off for the owners. As far as professional sports go lets face it the bottom line (money) dictates what the owners of the teams will pay. This contract is an attempt to make the sport far more popular but I suspect it will not be as suscessfull as hoped. Over here football (NFL), baseball (American/National Leagues), basketball (NBA) & hockey (NHL) are the most popular sports.
