 World Cup Nearly Here..... So its nearly that time after 4 long years of the world cup. Anybody want to predict the outcome of englands efforts????  I hope for a change they actually win the cup, the only problem i have is living in gran canaria and being engaged to a wonderful spainish woman, so i imagine there will be some banter between us and the father-in-law.... i cant wait.....      |

| Re: World Cup Nearly Here..... National Geographic has an article this month, explaining the popularity of Soccer for us. I've just skimmed it so far. They've made sure to point out that Anywhere else on the planet, it called 'football' and ours is 'American football'. They have an assortment of writers (mostly English) giving us a rundown on teams/countrys. So I may actually be able to follow it w/you fellas. I'm told its even going to be on ESPN too. The stadium in Lincoln, at UNL (Univ.of NE at Lincoln) is the third most populous 'city' in Nebraska on game days. Behind Omaha where I live, and Lincoln itself. If you ever see a yank in a bright red shirt or jacket w/an "N" on it, or anything w/a red "N" on it, call out "Husker" and see if they don't turn around. All the teams of the Nebr. college system are called 'The Cornhuskers', but especially the footballers.
