Yo, the ron thompson fly gear is very good value for money. Same performance as £100 + gear. So £99 for all that is a worthwhile investment.

Just a case of learning to fly fish and having fun.

By the way, u gotta have a go at catching a 2lb mackerel on the fly, they go like exocet missiles.

Enjoy.............

Re: Ron thompson saltwater fly rods

Hi Dan, i bought a lureflash outfit when i first started flyfishing..6/7 wft, it did me proud on reserviors and i can,t see why it would'nt work up the local estuary 7wt line, if your using it off the beach i agree with the other lads you need to go up 2.
I use a greys 7/8 which cost a hundred squid, and i use a plastic cheap reel that the sea's not gonna mess up. Beautiful rod action and punches out well.
